Carrie is a creative maker originally from West Wales and currently based in London.

 

Since completing her degree in Textiles for Fashion at Brighton University in 2007, Carrie moved towards the world of costume, where she continues to enjoy the process of working with her hands and utilising the properties of different fabrics to make her creations.

 

Carrie has been involved in a diverse range of projects including Classical theatre, site specific projects, film, TV, touring, musicals, opera, community and educational projects. 

 

After spending some time living in Italy and learning corsetry and tailoring from La Scala specialists, Carrie has developed strong skills as a costume maker.

 

In her work Carrie collaborates with others to create beautifully crafted pieces that create a visual language evoke feelings and perceptions that transform not only the wearer, but also the participents, into a suspended state of imagination and belief in order to create a full experience.

 

Her views on utilising the power of the arts as a way of inclusion, communication and expression as well as a tool for learning can be seen through her work in the community and educational sector.
